SL Foto Contest Details
Foto.com organizes a summer photo contest in Second Life from July 9th 2007 to September 2nd 2007. Second Life residents are invited to send us their favourite landscapes or avatars pictures. All pictures which respect the submissions requirements below are displayed on the SL Foto Contest weblog and are submitted to the visitors’ votes.
What is Second Life ?
Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by a total of 7,852,433 people from around the globe.

How to submit?
Participants may submit their pictures in-world through the Foto.com HUD.
By doing a right click and buy, you will get the HUD, Foto.com goodies and a notecard containing the HUD instructions.
To use it, you must select it in your inventory (in the Foto.com folder) and click on Attach to ATH in order to put it at the desired place on your screen.
The HUD has four functions :
- HOME : allows you to go to the contest weblog and vote for your favorite photos
- FAQ : alows you to get a notecard containing the contest rules
- HOW TO ? : provides help with the photo submission module
- GUIDE : download the Second Life Photography Guide, provided by Foto.com and written by Yann Mip, a French Second Life photo expert
The HUD can be defective on some areas where scripts are deactivated.
Pictures may also be sent to slfotocontest@gmail.com with the following information :
- Avatar name
- Location
- SLURL
- Some comments
What to submit?
Participants may submit any picture taken from Second Life in any standard format (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIFF, PDF, PSD…)
Prizes
Each week* the author of the top ranked picture will be granted a Linden $ 10,000 prize, a printed album of his work and a 100 free photos development package on Foto.com to print his/her Second Life pictures.
After the last week of contest, Foto.com will hold a special event in-world to exhibit the 8 weekly winners’ artworks (date to be determined)

Submissions requirements
Participants are required to provide their email address and avatar name, so that Foto.com may inform the winners and deliver the prizes./p>
Submissions must be original and must not have been previously published.
Submissions containing personally identifiable information about any person(s) will not be considered.
Submissions must not include any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane content.
Submissions must not contain or infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, and rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity.
Submissions must not contain any commercial content or product promotion.
There is no limit on the number of entries that may be submitted by an entrant.
By participating in this contest each person making a submission authorizes Foto.com to use their photos in promotional tools related to the contest.
Foto.com reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not comply with the requirements.
